The three national forests will be releasing the DEIS and Proposed Revised Land Management Plan on March 14, 2014. The Proposed Revised Land Management Plan is based on the Preferred Alternative. Using public comments received during scoping, the team has been working with a co-convener group (established in 2004 involving county and state offices, and the Tribes) to develop the alternatives and analyze the environmental effects. The issues that were identified from the scoping comments include: access, economic and social well-being, livestock grazing and grazing land vegetation, old forest, preliminary administratively recommended wilderness areas, and ecological resilience (restoration). These issues are being used to formulate the range of alternatives resulting in a DEIS and Proposed Revised Land Management Plan.
